Stopping the Violence Women’s Counselling

Program Description 

The Stopping the Violence (STV) Counselling Program offers counselling and support for self-identified women and mature girls who have experienced violence or abuse in relationships,
sexual assault or childhood abuse.

The STV Counsellor works with survivors of:

Sexual assault
Partner abuse
Family violence
Date rape
Historic child abuse
Stalking
Sexual harassment.

Wellness and psycho-educational groups are also
offered as part of the program.

STV Counselling Outcomes

Clients are supported in reclaiming a sense of self and personal rights, which includes the right to make decisions, manage money
and manage children.

Clients are also supported in gaining perspective about overwhelming and confusing experiences and making the best personal decisions through exploring beliefs, feelings and the present situation.
