WCRS Board of Directors

WCRS Board of Directors

The Westcoast Community Resources Society (WCRS) is guided by the experience and skills of the Board of Directors who share the vision and values of healthy connected individuals, families and communities.

The Westcoast Community Resources Society Board of Directors demonstrate a passion for community and wellness through their hard-work and dedication to the Society and broader community.

Janet Busby (Chair)

Janet is one of the earliest volunteers of the Society and was instrumental in planning and advocating for services on the Westcoast in the 1990’s. She helped to successfully advocate for the addition of the first Women’s Transition House on the west coast. Since this time, she has seen the growth and progress of the society as well as the addition of many new programs and services.

Janet has been a valued member of the board since 2016. She worked for Pacific Rim National Park Reserve for over 20 years and is invested in seeing the community and its members grow and prosper.

Tamara Nelson (Treasurer)

Tamara has lived in Ucluelet since 2008. She had been aware of WCRS but only got the ‘inside scoop’ when she took a temporary position with WCRS in 2017-18. Tamara was immediately impressed by the committed professional staff assisting people to live better lives in our beautiful west coast communities and decided to become a board member.

Tamara has worked in accounting and finance all her professional life and currently works in local government. Her financial experience makes her an asset to the Board and the WCRS.
